Joseph D. Rowe Co-Founder

Joe Rowe is the Co-founder, and President of Jefferson Rowe Vertical Horizon Solutions Group. He received his Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Dayton and a  Bachelor’s Degree from Ashland University.  Rowe received his Principal and  Superintendent certificates from Ohio University, where he participated in Rural Principal and Superintendent Cohorts.

 

Rowe is among Ohio's leading authorities in innovative scheduling and facilitation of professional learning   communities; programs and strategies he developed for secondary schools. He presents his programs and strategies at  district, state, regional, and national conferences. Rowe's audiences include the High Schools That Work (HSTW) national and state conferences, Ohio Leadership Advisory Council (OLAC), Ohio  Improvement Institute (OII), Athens-Meigs Education Service Center, Ohio Leadership for Inclusion, Implementation, and Instructional Improvement (OLI4), among others. 

 

Rowe has served as principal of Ironton High School, Ironton, Ohio since 2002. Under Rowe’s leadership,  Ironton has become the prototype for the implementation of the Ohio Improvement Process. In 2014, Ironton received the National Blue Ribbon Public School Award. Additionally, the Ohio   Department of Education recognized Ironton High as a School of  Promise three times.  Peers and associations throughout Ohio including the OII, HSTW,  OLAC, OLI4, and the Southern Regional Education Board  recognize Rowe and his team for their success.  

 

Rowe is a 1986 graduate of Ironton.  He served as a graduate teaching and football coaching assistant at the University of Dayton.
